Daniela’s Banoffee Pie
The first time I ate a slice of banoffe pie was in Brighton for my birthday, few months ago.
It was an incredibly ‘tasty experience’ that made me wanted to reproduce it at home, with an home made banoffee pie. Although the original recipe is so delicious with cream on top, I have a sporty boyfriend who prefers to replace cream with custard which is supposed to be ‘lighter’ than cream. So I “experimented” this variation and I guarantee it’s surprisingly yummy! This combination of tastes is definitely a perfect marriage!
If you want to try it, here is the recipe! :)

Chocolate cream
I like chocolate, so much! When I have chocolate at home, I usually eat it. Sometimes after Christmas there is a lot of chocolate at home, too much to eat all of it… so I like to use it in the kitchen, as an ingredient for my recipes. Chocolate cream is a very quick and easy dessert. You just need to mix custard and dark chocolate. After few hours in the fridge, it’s ready to taste. You can decorate the chocolate cream with raspberries: their red colour brightens the appearance of the dessert and their bitter taste makes more ‘sophisticated’ the flavour of the cream. Take a look at the recipe.

Custard

When I was a child, I loved eating custard immediately after my mom had made it. I liked the way it melted in my mouth… so gently. My mom used to pour it in espresso coffee cups, sprinkling some cocoa powder on top. It was such a simple and tasty dessert. In Italian cookery custard is not only a delicious way to finish a meal, but one important ingredients for a lot of sweets recipes as well. Layered cakes made of puff pastry filled with custard and cream puffs are just few examples. What is the secret for a perfect custard? Stir gently and constantly.
Here is the recipe.
